Could me cat be pregnant?

And is there a good way to tell?

Adopted her from gumtree 4 days ago (I have a thread up)

She is deaf and a housecat.

She already has a 9 week old kitten that the previous owners kept.

They said they were her 2nd owners ( Sad ) and she was pregnant when they got her.

But now I'm wondering if she escaped and got pregnant the first time round.

They said she doesn't go out at all so I didn't even think about pregnancy but she is SKINNY but has a round tummy.

I thought worms at first but used drontal on first day and she hasn't passed anything and her tummy is still rounded.

Could she be pg if her kitten was 9 weeks old?

I can't get to the vet now till Wednesday.

But she is ok in every other way.

Eating very well, pooping, weeing and is very snuggly

But...if you go to stroke her belly she bites. Could that be another sign?

Just not sure where to proceed from here. Never dealt with a possibly pregnant cat.

I think I would get her spayed either way asap because she didn't deal with her first litter well apparently and only had 1 live kitten which had to be bottle fed.

I'm just so sad for her. And worried.

Yes she could well be pregnant and the best thing all round would be to get her booked into the vets as quickly as possible for a spay/abort. It wouldn't do her any good to have to go through another pregnancy and, if it is anything like the last time, the kittens are unlikely to survive anyway.

Not all vets are happy to spay pregnant cats, but plenty will, so if one says no then just go to another.

If you're in London please come to Celia Hammonds.

I already said I would want her spayed.

Is ultrasound the only way to tell?

I'm not near London unfortunately.

She could be, but a lot of cats don't like their tummy being touched, so that's a red herring I think.
Realistically it's going to be the 27th before you can take her to a vet, but ring and make an appointment asap.

A vet may be able to tell without ultrasound - it really depends how far gone/obvious it is.

But you don't need to find out if you're going to go ahead with the spay in any case. Just get her booked in as soon as you can.

Pic of nipples

Could me cat be pregnant?

I thought maybe they were still big and puffy because of her 9 week old. But the previous owner said she abandoned the kitten and it had to be hand reared. So why would her nipples be big if she never fed?

Something just doesn't add up.
