Got our lovely girl today, given her a safe room of her own so she has space and quiet. She has been hiding a lot and won't come near me and is hissing at me is this normal?

What's your shortlist?
Do you need ideas?

I foster kittens and have had very shy ones. I keep them in a smaller room at first, and go in regularly to sit without touching them. I also watch tv on my phone so they get used to the noise. Take in some small yummy treats each time. It takes a couple of days at least sometimes, then I start leaving their room door open. Good luck, she will come around!!

Still not eating the food but she's been out a lot to play, she seems to be keen on ds he's been luring her out with toys, doesn't seem comfortable enough to be stroked yet! Honey and Sadie were our top names but they don't seem to fit!

Is it the same food she was having? Wet or dry or both? One of mine wouldn't touch dry stuff to start with so i offered both wet and dry food (in different bowls. They can get ill if they don't eat for a while so I'd maybe offer alternative

Our kitten hid upside down squeezed behind a pipe for about the first week we had her. We thought maybe we'd adopted a bat!

She remained quite skittish for a few weeks but eventually she settled down.

How about Pickle for a name? She's very pretty.

I've offered wet and 2 types of dry so far! She's not seen interested in any, when should i start to get worried?

Leave it out overnight for her, mine wouldn't touch biscuit at that age either.

I'd leave wet out for her too. She'll maybe eat when no-one is watching

Our kitten hid, hissed and even spat at us the first couple of days. He's now a proper cuddlebug, it took him a few days to come around.
I think us having an older cat helped. He immediately became older cat's shadow, and he likewise has taken on a parental role.
