Grooming a Ragdoll after ear drops?

So our 14 week old Ragdoll was absolutely gorgeous and fluffy when we got him (I’ll attach a photo) and after we took him home we arranged an appointment with our local vet, long story short he has ear mites and has been prescribed drops into his ears twice daily. He’s been on them for about a week now and his ears seem to be clearing up fabulously, the only problem we’re having is the drops are making his fur really greasy around his ears and chest. We’ve bathed him twice and I always wipe him down after putting his drops in either with a warm cotton pad or cat wipes. We’re thinking about taking him to a groomers once he’s finished his drops but I was wondering if any of you lovely people had any recommendations for the meantime? He looks a bit homeless! Lol

He is lovely. I haven't done anything when my cats have had eardrops. Over time the oil will disappear.

Mine looks a bit like that after his flea spot on, in the shoulder area. It goes away after a few days.

This happens with any cat on certain ear drops. All you can do is wipe them down after and it should clear up after he's been off them for a while. Good that they've worked though.

Thanks all for your replies! It seems to dry up but it never really goes away, even when I brush it. I guess we’ll just have to wait it out .. bless him!

If you brush it, it just spreads it out.

@Weedsnseeds1 I brush it after I’ve wiped him down, i have to brush him almost every day so he doesnt get tangled since his fur is so long and thick

Hes beautiful! 😍

I brush mine daily as he's a fluff ball, but try and avoid the spot on site for a few days. I don't want to wipe it as removing the pesticide and I don't want to spread it where he can lick. ( I know yours is eardrops).
It will wear off, they just look a bit grotty for a while, try not to worry.

Don't worry - what he looks like is not really important if his ears are getting better

@Chocolate254 I’m a bit biased but I think so too! He’s my gorgeous boy Smile

And yes you’re totally right, his ears seem to be totally cleared now and there isn’t a lot of grub coming out of them anymore when we’re wiping them, that’s the most important thing
