Still seeing fleas after using frontline. Which would you recommend?

Stronghold. Fleas are resistant to Frontline here.

Lonecatwithkitten · 25/11/2017 22:34

Bikerunski broadline is only effective for four weeks I am afraid.

BikeRunSki · 26/11/2017 04:45

How odd. The dosage prescribed by our vet is for doses every 2 months. I’ll ask him about this next time we go in.

OtterInDisgrace · 26/11/2017 05:01

Advantage.
The only one that works

Sorry but this is bollocks. I’ve been using stronghold for about 4 years on different cats and it’s the best I’ve tried. Plus it gets rid of worms.

OtterInDisgrace · 26/11/2017 05:04

Oh, and if you do use Stronghold, buy it online as it’s much cheaper. You just need to get a prescription from the vet and upload it to the cheapest place you can find.

missladybird · 26/11/2017 05:04

So is stronghold better than advocate? Do I really need to indorex as well?

I’ve never used advocate. Is it non-prescription? I’d say if so, then yes, Stronghold will definitely be better. I can’t see how non-prescription stuff can work, really. It’s like buying a pseudo medication from boots when you need something from the gp.

missladybird · 26/11/2017 05:11

No the vet says it's what they will use once this shitty frontline has finished it's course. Should I try a different vet? I don't see how she can overdose on a different treatment if the frontline she had 2 weeks ago didn't work?

I know nothing about Advocate but would advise caution with the Indorex, especially if you’ve treated recently with Frontline, even if it didn’t work.

Bless ‘em, I do worry about the chemicals we subject our pets to.

dementedpixie · 26/11/2017 09:01

Advocate is prescription only. Treats fleas and some worms.

grafittiartist · 26/11/2017 11:07

Take care with indirect spray if you have fish. It's really dangerous for them. Cover the tank with a blanket and seal the door.

grafittiartist · 26/11/2017 11:08

Indorex not indirect!

missladybird · 26/11/2017 11:29

I don't have any other pets. Just concerned about the human children!
