Dry food recommendations

I am looking for recommendations for good dry food. My kitten is currently on Whiskas kitten as that is what she was weaned onto. However after her first birthday I might move her onto something else. Just not sure what. Ideally something of good quality that will help her stay healthy.

We use Royal Canin. I'm very happy with it. Our (grumpy middle aged) girl cat likes it. We give her a mix of wet and dry food, as she has a tendancy to gain weight - the wet food seems to fill her up more while the dry food helps look after her teeth and counters the terrible breath she gets if she only has wet.

If you do switch to dry food, I would advise working out the correct portion size for your cat's weight and then being strict with how much you give. Dry food is much more calorie-dense, so it is very, very easy to over-feed. This is how our cat ended up at moggy weight-watchersBlush

Mine like grain free James Wellbeloved it's not the best quality though.
We also feed wet. Just dry food isn't great as they often don't drink enough.

Applaws kitten

My cat has really taken to Lily's Kitchen dried food, I'd had her on wet food only previously but as she was becoming ridiculously fussy I decided I'd try dried;she now has a small amount of dried food every day as well as wet food, she is happy to drink lots of water too. The difference in her coat is amazing as it's so shiny.

Somebody Wellbeloved and Royal Canin is what we use. DCat loves it!

AVA grain free from pets at home. Has 60% chicken. Does a kitten version too

Meowing Heads goes down best here (mind you, this is for a cat who is sick on most other catfood and refuses tuna, so perhaps not yer typical mog). It's a bit pricey, but cheaper than the Sensitive Ickle Snowflake food for cats with digestive problems that preceded it.

Royal Canin here too.

Thanks everyone. There’s so many choices!

Royal Canin Persian dry here. Never any complaints and no fussyness.

Applaws dry is good, both kitten and adult versions. Arden Grange goes down well here too. Both grain free and higher than average meat content.

our vet recommended Harringtons as a good quality inexpensive cat food. its about £5 for a 2kg bag. Our cat seems very healthy and happy on it.
