Cat with allergies

One of my cats is allergic to tuna!! Her face swells up and she scratches until she bleeds if she eats any.
It is a nightmare finding a food that is guaranteed tuna free. So many foods have 'animal derivatives' in the ingredients and tons of non-tuna flavours still have tuna in them. Why does lamb cat food need 7% tuna?? Angry
To make matters worse the other cat is massively fussy combined with happy to starve and I have to keep a careful watch to make sure he doesn’t lose any weight.
They both came from a hoarders house and have issues with food.
I spent 30 mins reading cat food boxes the other day and selected three without tuna. Apparently they are all poison flavoured and a very loud hunger strike is in process. (Waiting for the dirty protest to start)
So, anyone know about tuna allergies and can recommend a good brand?

Just to add, I have a suitable dry food. I am looking for wet food.

I don’t know anything about allergies in cats, but I do have a fussy bugger! He eats Country Hunter pouches which are 96% meat and list the ingredients on the packet. He also sometimes eats Meowing Heads, which is also very high meat content and listed on the tins.

Both companies were very helpful when I contacted them after he was diagnosed with kidney disease so you could get in touch with them (I used Twitter) and ask them to confirm they don’t contain tuna.

Good luck!

Can you feed them separately (with microchip feeders) so that fussycat can have the tuna-tainted food they want and sensitivecat can have something special? It might make it slightly less complicated. I have a fussy princess myself and her hunger strikes are always planned for when I buy something I know she likes in bulk. Suddenly, it tastes like poison and is ruined forever, and it's always my fault.

Unfortunately separate feeding doesn’t work as fussy cat objects to sensitive cat licking flakes of tuna off his face and teeth after every meal Grin

I have tried Meowing Heads before, they didn’t like it. I will look out for Country Hunter.

It seems to be a texture issue, the tuna-less food seems to always have a pate like texture. Which they don’t like.

Country Hunter is more meaty looking than Meowing Heads.

This was Harry’s dinner tonight. I can’t see any mention of tuna on the ingredients.

If you're up for it, we use natures menu frozen raw meat for ours. Very few ingredients (and no tuna, even in the salmon)

The Country Hunter looks good, where do you buy it?

I have tried raw foods, they don’t even recognise it as food. Their previous owner fed them junk food. They go crazy for chicken nuggets, their favourite cat food is the cheapest crap available. I have had them years but still trying to overcome their previous bad treatment

We order it from Fetch. His lordship will only eat the duck/pheasant and chicken/goose flavours, but there are a couple of others.

I tried feeding him on raw food and he looked at me as though I was mad and walked off! I was pleased really as I didn’t really like it.
