Sparklingcat has conjunctivitis

Sad

DH took her to the vet, the vet asked if he wanted him to demonstrate how to administer the eye gel, DH said no, we will work it out. Angry

So she could have had her first treatment at the vets but instead we have the tube and have to work out how to do it without her going ballistic.

Any top tips or is the wrap her up in a towel with head poking out and just do our best the way to go?

Yes, I do keep thinking I should maudlin. This has cost me £47.99 for initial consultation and the gel, then £22.99 on Wednesday for the follow up (which for some reason I thought would be free don't know why I thought that) then if we go back on Monday another £22.99.

Bit steep for a bout of conjunctivitis.

Same. I've paid it in the past. What can you do when they're sick they're sick.
I would definitely investigate in your area. The guy I now go to doesn't have a fancy surgery like the other place but he knows his stuff. I 100% trust him and no mention of follow up appointments, just come back if you need help.

I pay £10 a month for the vet plan thingy which includes vaccinations and flea/worm treatment and because she's over 10 and we made a claim last year her insurance is £13 a month.

I think I need to review it all.

Where I used to live, the local practise was extortionate. Great care and lovely staff but the prices were eye-watering!

I now live in rural Cumbria. Our local vet is the one used by all the farmers and the practise is definitely a sign of that. But they know their stuff, treatment is a hell of a lot cheaper and they seem to be able to calm animals down a lot better than my previous practise.

It’s definitely worth shopping around.

Yes, I did sit there in the newly built branch of Pets at Home looking at the swish decor of Vets for Pets and thinking well someone's paying for all this...
