What is the best cat litter?

I could try them all I suppose, but that would take a while! Any recommendations for litter that absorbs wee and smells best? Poo is picked out daily, using Lidl stuff at the minute (coshida not the clay one) and it just stinks of wee after a day.

I use a paper based one. Good for the environment. Breeder Celect.

We use Catsan, non-clumping. While the cat poop still smells (it's never going to smell of roses, is it?) the stench is much less than than the Felight we were originally using and actually find that if we go out and the poop is left there longer, the smell lessens. There's a bit of tracking, but the stones are quite large so they don't go very far.

The 20L bags are about £10.50 at a supermarket, but when I bought a couple at Costco last week they were £6.20.

Whoever said Costco do their own brand of litter - thanks for that, the Costco I go to don't seem to have that, but I'll keep looking out for it just in case they bring it in.
