I am not sure what to write I am trying to distract myself whilst she is at the vet :( I am waiting for the vet to call.

I am heartbroken.

Apparently they have managed to stabilise the seizures but she is very jaundiced.

My poor baby Charlie :(

I was given Royal Canin recovery milk to syringe into my pudding, when she came home on day leave. She was quite good with it. But wouldn’t drink it from a bowl. She was properly discharged with a feeding tube in her neck. I gave her one day of milk feeds then realised that she wasn’t stung because she was full of milk, so stopped and just topped her up with water. Only did it for two days then she was fine.

Well she is home now - still very shaky. Managed to get some wet food in her but yet to see her drinking. Now fast asleep in a drawer.
A little bit of hissibg from her sister but hopefully that will pass - I have a feliway plug in on the go.

She was discharged with antibiotics and anti inflammatories that she will need to take for the next 2 weeks.

I guess I am mostly concerned about the fluids.... How do I make her drink more water?

If she’s been on IV fluids she may not be thirsty yet. Wet food contains water. You could syringe some in if you are worried.

Your poor cat, ours had us through the stress a couple of years back (long story!). Mix water in with the wet food, to encourage her to eat warm it a little in the microwave so it smells more. Is she allowed tuna? If so tuna in water is good don't drain the water. You could leave water around the house in various containers.
Get well soon puss.

CrazyDuchess · 07/10/2017 13:38

Aww thank you - I actually don't own a microwave so can a little hot water do? She does eat fish so will try anything to get her eating.

Okay will wait and see as they took her off the fluids this morning so will she what she is like but I'll order some syringes now just incase?

I will start a separate post on pet insurance - but any advice on the best pet insurance to take out??

Tesco were brilliant with both of my huge claims. Settled quickly with no fuss.

CrazyDuchess · 07/10/2017 16:33

That a incredibly helpful!

My girls claim for her pancreatitis was £5000. And two months later her sister ran up a claim for another £5000!

Well managed the first antibiotics - that was a little difficult but managed to get her swallowing.

Apparently she has drunk some water but and Charlie is still eating food so will hope that she continues to improve!
