I wonder if anyone would be willing to tell me about how your cat was after losing their littermate.
Just over two weeks ago we had to have one of our two male cats pts. It was the right decision as he had suddenly become very unwell and the vet said he would have pts if it was his cat. It was very sad as he was a lovely affectionate cat and only 16 months old.
We showed his brother his body twice before burying him and he didn't react much. For the first week he acted fairly normally though was more affectionate (he was always the more aloof and independent of the two). However in this last week, I've noticed that he's more vocal, more clingy, and is often sniffing around places where his brother often sat.
Anything we can do?
Attached is the last picture of them together. Mackintosh is the tabby (the one who died) and Archie the black and white cat. And there's a picture of them with their sister when they were wee (we fostered them with their mother from when they three weeks and kept them when their mother and sister left when they were 14 weeks).
