Hello, me again!
So Albus is now coming up to 6 months. He is venturing in the garden with our supervision and loving it. However, yesterday he disappeared behind a tiny shed thing we have (that we checked behind for gaps!) and somehow managed to squeeze through the tiniest gap ever into next door.

Panic ensued, I climbed up and shouted over next doors fence as they were in their conservatory and door open. He was in the corner of their garden. NDN tried to grab him but he was so scared he ran away.

He tried to climb up the fence and couldn't cause he was too small, meowed and cried like I had never heard before and then ran into their house, into their spare room and hid inside a box!

We kept him in last night, but today he has been a nightmare. In our conservatory there's a cat flap that's quite loose, and he has managed to pull the entire thing off so there's a massive hole in the side. He's back in for now until my dp is back from football and we can both keep an eye on him. But where do we go from here? He's desperate to go out. Do we just let him and hope for the best? Do we keep supervising him in the garden and if he tries to escape catch him? He still seems so tiny!!

Thanks 😬😬😬

Is he neutered and recovered? Are you not happy to have him leave the garden? If not maybe cat proof.

He is neutered, about 4 weeks ago so I'd say recovered.
We were happy to leave him when we thought he could just Potter around and not escape so to speak, but now he is we're unsure what to do

If the area outside your garden isn't safe then cat proof. If not then let out first thing. Hungry!
And take deep breaths. I remember when we let our girls out. I was so worried.

It's cat proof to a degree. We've blocked off the small shed so he can't go behind it but he's quite nimble I can imagine he'd have no trouble jumping up and the fence behind isn't the same size as the others it's more 5 and a bit.

I've even googled cat collars and extendable leads!!

Have a look at cat proofing ideas. Companies can do it for you or you can DIY. Sloping in chicken wire atop fence. Stops him getting on top of the fence.
Depends where you are though. We are in a cul de sac. Ours go out but in before dark.
