Cats have fallen out!

So my 1-year-old cats were doing their usual crazy chasing each other round the house thing when one of them knocked the dish drainer onto the floor. The noise spooked them both and now they're hissing and growling at each other. Do I need to separate them or just leave them to it?

You're being oversensitive. They will sort it out. Leave them to it.

Leave them to it. Separating them is actually likely to make things worse.

Thanks for the advice. Wouldn't really call it over sensitive, I was just asking a question.

If they have got on so far, they are probably just spooked by the noise, so leave them to it. They can fall out as they get older though, just because they are related doesn't guarantee they will be besties!
Are they both neutered as that can help.

Ours do this often - it's nothing to worry about! One of ours also growls at the others if they have been to the vets, or if he's seen a strange cat outside.
And over the years they will probably fight occasionally.

Don't worry. Wink

Funnily enough OP, I was pondering asking the same question about my boys! Just over a year old (brothers), rescue cats. We let them outside for the first time today and it seems to have completely changed the dynamic! (Or it could be down to the fact we left them alone overnight whilst we went to a wedding??). But they are growling and yowling and hissing at each other 🙁.

Hoping both return to their normal selves soon!

Cats are like children. Hissing and snarling at each other one minute.
Then playing together as if nothing's happened the next. Its not worth getting stressed over.

Yeah, mine are better already! My previous cats didn't like each other anyway, so got used to their spats, but yeah, typical brothers 😂

Thanks everyone. They seem to have reached a truce now Grin
