New cat! So exciting *pics*

Say hello to Jupiter :)

Oldcat died a little over two years ago, Stupidcat died last October. Lovely girls, both very elderly, skin and bones by the time they died.

We have been thinking of filling the cat-sized space for some time - DH said if I let him go to the shelter we'd end up coming home with one. Now our youngest daughter is one and a half she's a bit less of a liability, so off we went to the shelter on Sunday. We have found a lovely boy, who hopefully will be coming home next week (he's currently having treatment for conjunctivitis).

But... he's a boy, and he's young, and he's healthy, and he can jump, and he is incredibly fast. It is going to be one hell of a learning curve Grin

Any tips on how to make sure he doesn't escape gratefully received! Getting two small children out the door while keeping the cat in sounds quite difficult, when the cat in question can actually move...

No advice. Just wanted to say he looks gorgeous!

Misericord · 23/08/2017 22:56

Beautiful cat! Congratulations :)

thecatneuterer · 23/08/2017 22:57

Congratulations.

As for not letting him out when you go out of the door - can you shut him in an internal room before you open the outside door?

EachandEveryone · 24/08/2017 01:32

Gorgeous boy. I shut an inside door and remind everyone else to

maamalady · 24/08/2017 07:12

Yeah, shutting the inside door will work for getting out the front door (unless he disappears upstairs while we're going through the inside door). DH getting his bike in/out the garage door might be interesting though!

He is so beautiful, the photos don't do him justice!

It's been a long time since we've had a cat who could jump to go out of a window, too! I think the house is going to be quite stuffy while he settles in...

Ah yes that horrible stage of keeping them in for the first few weeks, then that horrible stage of letting them out and praying they'll find their way home...Grin He is a very handsome chap, enjoy him!

EachandEveryone · 24/08/2017 09:28

How old is he?

maamalady · 24/08/2017 12:14

He's eleven months, such a change from Oldcat and Stupidcat, who were 21 and 16 years respectively... Shock
