Soft cat biscuits

Has anyone got any suggestions for soft cat biscuits? Harry can't have normal ones because they cause problems with his jaw so I'd like to find something else. He refused to eat the Hi Life ones so I'm looking for other ideas! His favourite flavours were duck and fish when he could have his James Wellbeloved biscuits.

Harry and I thank you in advance!

Could you just soak the ones he likes with s bit of water. Or salmon oil. I tried that when Fatty was supposed to be on wet food and wouldn't eat enough of it. She turned her nose up at damp biscuits as well but Harry might be different! Love to Gorgeous Harry from Fatty and Snorg.

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 17/08/2017 09:31

We tried that and he wasn't interested! I have to say I can't blame him as it did look as though it had been regurgitated!

He seems to be managing ok without biscuits, I'm only thinking about it as he ate all his dinner early last night and wanted more in the night. We used to chuck a handful of biscuits in a bowl but obviously we can't do that now.

Harry says hi to the lovely Fatty and Snorg!

He's looking very gorgeous and content with life!

YetAnotherSpartacus · 17/08/2017 15:07

if that isn't just asking for belly kisses I don't know what is.

ElizaDontlittle · 17/08/2017 17:34

Hello lovely Harry...
I don't know of soft biscuits - when babycat was tiny I dripped a bit of cat milk on ordinary kitten biscuits, which are mostly physically smaller than cat ones. He ate that for the first weeks.

GingerKitCat · 17/08/2017 19:21

Harry you are gorgeous! Wink

Eould any of the senior ranges be suitable? Royal Canin Indoor 7+ advertises a softer kibble but I don't know if it's soft enough?

dementedpixie · 17/08/2017 19:29

this says it's soft

GingerKitCat · 17/08/2017 19:32

There's also Royal Canin Senior Aging which has good reviews at Zooplus. People are saying their cats with tooth issues eat it up:

here

GingerKitCat · 17/08/2017 19:34

I saw that one demented but all three reviews said their cats wouldn't touch it and that is wasn't moist in the slightest!

CatchingBabies · 17/08/2017 19:41

Could you not switch him to wet food is there any reason he has to have dry?

Primadonnagirl · 17/08/2017 19:46

Watching this thread because our 18 year old is having difficulty eating because of her teeth...she just licks the jelly off soft food but is clearly hungry. Milk etc upsets her stomach and she won't eat scrambled egg as advised by vet. I don't like seeing her hungry but I can't help her!

Toddlerteaplease · 17/08/2017 19:50

Just wondering about the Royal Canin Persian as that's got smaller flatter kibbles to deal with their flat faces and small mouths. I've got loads if wanted to try it. Fatty and Snorg would happily spare some for Harry.

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 17/08/2017 20:50

Thanks for your advice everyone, and Harry says thank you for all the compliments! I had to let him out of the patio doors as his head is too big for the cat flap now!

Catching, he is on wet food but sometimes he worries for food when he's cleaned his bowl. It would be handy to be able to put him some biscuits down to tide him over until his next meal.

Toddler, that's very kind of Fatty and Snorg, and you of course! He's had flat kibble before but even that caused him problems. I think he just can't have hard food any more.

He's sulking in the garden at the moment as we've just cleaned his face with hibiscrub. He rubs his cheeks really hard after he's eaten and it's looking sore. I think the food gets stuck in the gaps where his teeth used to be so unless I can get him a set of dentures we're just going to have to keep on top of it.

Here's another picture...

He's very gorgeous.

If it's just as a supplementary food would a few Dreamies work? They're soft inside though I haven't tried one to test the texture!

Somebody needs to invent cat Pom Bears that are gently crunchy but dissolve quickly.

Vinorosso74 · 17/08/2017 21:35

Aaaah Harry, so cute! Sorry no help on the biscuits at all.

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 17/08/2017 22:01

He's not like other cats, he won't eat Dreamies. This is the cat that for several years would only eat duck flavour James Wellbeloved biscuits for every meal!

He's so gorgeous that he's worth all the trouble and stress. Pm me your agreed if you do want to try do RC Persian and I'll send some.

Toddlerteaplease · 17/08/2017 22:08

Having had to try and get Fatty to eat soft diet I know how stressful it is when they won't eat it!

GingerKitCat · 17/08/2017 23:50

Seems like the answer would be semi-moist food but it all seems to have been discontinued!

YetAnotherSpartacus · 18/08/2017 12:31

Oh, that beseeching look :) What an absolute darling he is. How can you resist him anything he wants?

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 19/08/2017 08:49

It's very difficult to deny him anything, he only has to look at me to get what he wants! Mind you he's sulking in the garden again as I dared to give him a different flavour food for breakfast this morning!

Toddler, I've PM'd you.

Botanicbaby · 19/08/2017 10:50

Sorry can't help with food advice but have to say how gorgeous he is!! That pic with him looking up like that, he's gorgeous...oh my god, I'd be putty in his paws Smile
hope you find soft biscuits, maybe ask at local rescue centre if they have any recs?

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 19/08/2017 14:56

That's a good idea Botanic. I thought of asking at the vets but they are pushing me to have Harry's jaw operated on again even though it doesn't cause him any problems. He eats his wet food (nothing too cheap obviously, he's trying to bankrupt me!) but on the occasions he does eat the lot and wants more it would be handy to have a few biscuits to put down.

If I thought he needed his jaw operated on I would I'd it, but it seems a lot to put him through just so he can have Pronefra syringed into his mouth for his kidney kidney disease! I suppose it would mean he could also have biscuits but it does seem a bit extreme, especially as we were warned he could end up needing his jaw amputated!

My local Tesco does cat food in the chiller cabinet and it has chunks in a bag that look similar to dry cat food but would be moist. I think the make is Freshpet
