Hi all,
I have recently taken in a gorgeous girl as her owner had to move into a care home.

My plan was, as per advice, to keep her in for a minimum of 2 weeks before letting her out, but on the way through the garden gate, her carrier door fell off and she escaped! Blush She stayed around the immediate gardens/fields for 4 nights, then we managed to catch her, and she has now been housebound for 3 days.

She is extremely friendly, and seems to have settled in well, which is wonderful, but I am now wondering if she still has to stay in for the full recommended duration? She's very much an outdoor girl in the summer, and is obviously keen to get back out there, but I don't want to do the wrong thing.

Can any of you lovely litterers help please? Smile

At least 2 weeks and then let her out on a morning when she's hungry so she doesn't wander too far. Just let her mooch around and get her bearings, don't carry her or fuss!

Yes keep her in. In fact two weeks isn't very long. We recommend three. But I feel it does rather depend on the cat. Still - definitely not less than two.

Great, thanks @Polter and @neuterer, I'll aim for 3 weeks for safety.
