Litter tray liners.

Hi. Quick question. Islacat keeps flicking over the sides of her tray liner. Are there any liners that just lay flat in the bottom of the tray? She is being left quite a lot at the moment as DP is in a hospice and his neighbour and I take it in turns to feed and clean her tray. She only has one front paw and still manages to cause chaos. I'm worried if she flicks the sides over she will poo on the floor instead. I don't like the ammonia smell in the litter which is why I started using the liners!!

I used to use a folded up puppy pad instead of a liner. But gave up as it would smell before the litter needed changing. I don't use liners at all anymore. They just put their claws through them and the litter would go everywhere. So it defeated the object. The girls are happier without a liner.

Pets at home do a litter tray with a clip on rim/lip. This rim prevents litter being flicked out when they scratch over their mess. But the benefit for you would be that it clips liners into place. I think ours cost £10 and they come in a variety of colours and sizes.

I gave up on liners. They are more faff than they are worth. I ended up with holes clawed in the liners. I just wash the tray out each time I do a full litter change.

Bit of folded newspaper in the bottom maybe? Have never used liners for any of mine.

I tried liners once but it just got shredded so I don't use them any more

I use liners and, providing there's a generous amount of litter, they've never been shredded. I also put a puppy training pad under the box (aka a pussy cat incontinence pad!) as, if I've used too much litter, he's gone over the side of the tray!

I use a puppy pad under the litter - the really cheap ones from home bargains are fine.

My friend uses clothes pegs to clip the liner in place!

I got one of those trays with a hood over it - cat took a little time to get used to it but lots less mess
