Hi all, we have just acquired a new ragdoll kitten (have a look at attached picture!) and she's super sociable so wants to be around us all the time since yesterday. She seems drawn though to my computer / to sockets / wires etc. What do you to do make sure it's not dangerous?

Congratulations - a lovely kitten!!!

Sev loved and loves to bite through charger cables and any cables of that size. (I've told on here how he killed the christmas tree lights.)

He's adult now but he still does it, he's waiting for someone to leave a bag or drawer open and then kills any cables he finds.
I went to the DIY store to get cableprotectors for thicker cables and everything else has to be put away. I cover all cables on my desk with a cloth when I have to leave it unattended.

Can you fix permanent cables along the skirting board? Any loose cable can be bundled together using a cable kit, (the plastic coil one with a zipping tool)

What a beautiful kitten!

as it's only her 2nd day, for now we are monitoring her when in the living room; the conservatory where she sleeps is 'cat proof' (!)

I have already collected all loose cables / chargers etc and put them in a drawer, and will be putting away computers / kindles etc when she's home alone.

In a way she's easy to monitor as she seems to be exactly where we are all the time!! She didn't take any time to settle really, she immediately wanted to be where we are (however, I didn't hear her crying at night when I left her in conservatory to sleep so hopefully she slept well even though alone).

She's lovely. I'm sure it won't be long before she joins you in bed...Grin
