Who is it that does the feral cat neutering?

Sorry couldn't think of a better way to find out. A friend has cat that's had kittens in her shed. The mums coming round slowly but kittens not at all. She pretty sure mum is pregnant again. RSPCA have advised they will catch but prob pts kittens as they're so feral. Cats protection have offered to catch neuter release which she's more ham happy with but they've said she has to pay (for collars/feed whilst cp have them?) which she can't afford.

She can't take them in herself as her little girl has allergies but I think she's happy to keep an eye on them if they're living in her garden

Food for while they look after them can't be much. Can you pay if she doesn't have the money?

RSPCA would just kill them all. Where does she live?

Fuck it - I'd be happy to pay CP if they can do the job. Just pm me and I can make the payment direct to them. The cost of food for a week really can't be much. They don't put collars on cats so I think someone has the wrong end of the stick on that one - maybe there is a charge for something else? I'm sure they wouldn't be charging anything at all if they had the money, but charities are all struggling terribly.

I'd happily donate something towards their neutering/food if it means they don't all get pts, and it gets on top of the mum cat and kittens getting pregnant over and over.

Could it be the cone of shame rather than a collar?

If your friend has an Aldi near her cat food is less than £2 for 12 pouches. My fussy bugger won't eat it but I've heard good things about it.

Sorry phone died!! She just said collar so it could well be the cone of shame. Let me find out the exact details. I think she's mainly worried about the fact that mum seems to be pregnant again so it could be loads of kittens to catch and get done!

As incase it's not clear in the OP its a stray cat who's had kittens not a cat she owns

The cat can be aborted if a bit pregnant. If she's in London we (Celia Hammonds) can do the trapping/neutering. It's outside our normal area but I don't mind travelling on occasions. Please let me know.

thecatneuterer · 03/08/2017 19:53

And if too pregnant to abort she would go to foster where the kittens would be socialised and eventually homed.

Cats a problem where I live in Grays. Just too many roaming about. And incidentally, I have four. Not by choice. But that's a different story.

Lady vet I once used, having too many strays where she lives. So once having got their confidence, neutered them herself. Her way of helping them. Don't know if still doing it? Left the practice last year to go teaching.
