Scabby cat

Hey everyone!

We moved into our house over Easter. We have 2 cats (3yo). Previously lived in a flat so they'd always been indoor pets.

After a few weeks we began leaving the back door open and now they love going out. There is no cat flap so they're only allowed out when we are home and are always in by early evening.

A few doors down lives a horrible scabby cat. It really doesn't look very well looked after. It keeps attacking my 2 who won't fight back as they're typical indoor cats that have never had to deal with this before.

A month or so ago the cat came into our kitchen after our 2 so my husband shooed it out but it ended up attacking him. Literally drew blood from clawing his leg. In the end I threw water at it to scare it off. I then threw used litter all over our garden to 'scent' it as our 2s territory.

We hadn't seen it for a while so assumed this had done the trick.

But no....last night my Husband and I were putting out DD2 to bed when we heard awful shrieking from the lounge. 1 cat came running up the stairs, pissed herself and hid in the tiniest corner of our bedroom. The other cat hid behind the sofa. Neither emerged for the rest of the evening.

My husband shouted at it to get out but it stood in the doorway staring at him. So he took the broom and physically shooed it out.

Now what to I do!? I can't keep my back door closed all the time but I also have DD2 to think about! She's used to cuddling our cats and would likely approach scabby cat if it was in our home but it would definitely attack her Sad

Sounds like it's a full Tom. If it's scabby & has trouble nuts one of the charities might neuter it for you.

You aren't to know he's owned.

He is owned. One of the neighbours mentioned that he belongs to someone further down the street....
