PuffinCat got told off by the vet

... for being nosey Grin. Vet's assessment was spot on, she's always sniffling things like the dogs she proclaims to hate. Unfortunately he got hissing for thanks...

Smallest cat got told off by the vet for jumping on the keyboard and typing gobbledegook on the vets computer. Cat thinks it was vets fault for having computer adjacent to examination table, I'm inclined to agree.

ineedamoreadultieradult I'm inclined to agree- the vet should have known better!!!!😂
I wanted to be a vet for years before I decide human medicine was more my calling. Now that I own my first cat , and after seeing first hand what vets have to deal, with I'm soooo happy with the choice I made 😂😂😂
( it wasn't cats that put me off though!)

SweetChickadee · 17/07/2017 20:52

Our kitten was so loopy the first time we took him for shots the vet watched him dashing about in circles and asked 'is he always like this..?!'

um, yeah, he kind of is... Grin

TizzyDongue · 17/07/2017 20:58

How odd of the vet!

Unless I hold my GingerGiant he's off the exam table and up on the scales (where he stays for a bit unless the vet wants his weight). Than he's off over the keyboard, looking at the leads, paw down the cable hole and trying (unsuccessfully) to open cupboard doors. Generally everywhere!

sarahC40 · 03/08/2017 20:08

Tizzy love that your cat seems to be investigating the cupboards - mine discovered the cat treats and sat there, giving the vet significant looks...

Sorry to resurrect this thread but just wanted to say thanks to @DumbledoresApprentice - the carrier is brilliant. Finally bought it when amazon had them on offer at the end of November. Was much less distressing today for everyone involved!

TroysMammy · 20/12/2017 17:52

The vet never saw Troy standing up except the once when she said "oh! He does have legs". He was a model patient when having his lungs drained due to heart failure, they said he would just sit there during the procedure. I used to see them out back passing him around for cuddles. He was a very placid cat bordering on the boring.

I got the this Cat basket from a rescue who were selling baskets, not taken it out yet, but I love it and Fatty does too. I got fed up of having to take the entire basket apart to take the puddle cats out at the vet. Puddle Cat was trying to blend in with the cardiologist's blanket, while having her heart scanned.

M-day's first trip to our vet was last week.

She jumped off the examining table, explored the entire room, tried to get into the dog treats and then found a comfy spot on the vet's windowsill.

TheSecondOfHerName · 20/12/2017 18:48

M-day? Missy.

TheSecondOfHerName · 20/12/2017 18:50

LivingInMidnight I'm sure I saw someone else on here recommend the space-pod carrier recently; was that you?

reallyanotherone · 20/12/2017 18:54

Mine loved the vet. I did warn them that he was aggressively friendly but they never got it until they’d been headbutted off balance several times and ended up carrying out the consultation with a cat draped over a shoulder purring loudly down one ear. Then trying to detach him to get him back in the carrier.

problembottom · 20/12/2017 19:17

My BSH has grown rather large he's effing huge but doesn't seem to realise. I bought his carrier when he was a wee kitten and it has a little cushion in it.

Last time I picked his carrier up in the vet's waiting room to go in he hid under the cushion - unfortunately these days only his head fits underneath it. He got laughed at by the whole waiting room.

LivingInMidnight · 20/12/2017 19:43

Second don't think so because today was the first time I used it! Grin

The catit one is great though, the vet didn't even need to get her out (skipped weighing because it went badly last time and she's fine and really uncooperative).

She's still hiding from me though Sad

LivingInMidnight · 20/12/2017 19:47

toddler is that the curver one? not that I've spent a ridiculous amount of time looking at carriers It's lovely, like a picnic basket! I do wish the catit one was a bit prettier.

BulletFox · 20/12/2017 20:22

I dunno, last time we went to the vets she was highly indignant at the cat carrier and boxed me through the vent with highly angry furry boxing paws, then jumped all around the veterinary room even on high shelves.

The vet kept saying you're very cheeky, aren't you? Yes, you're cheeky? And backing away slowly.

I was wearing a long coat as it it was winter and she made a sudden move and started climbing up the inside of my coat.

Toddlerteaplease · 20/12/2017 22:27

Midnight, yes it is the curver one. It's so solid, I'm going to get another one for Snorg, though she's larger so might be a bit Of a squeeze for her. But she can still turn round in it and it's higher than their current ones. It straps really securely into the car as well. I really like their current baskets (Sefanplast, from Amazon) but I'm fed up of having to completely dismantle them to get them out at the vet.

nooka · 21/12/2017 01:23

Our vet always has us take our pets into the treatment room a good 15 mins or so before they come in. Enough time for our girl cat to explore everywhere and our boy cat to find somewhere to hide. They are usually fairly relaxed before the poking and prodding.
