Bastard cat has caught a mouse..

..and I can't catch the bugger.

It's in the sitting room and I have moved all the furniture twice. I can't get close enough and the bastard cat seems to have forgotten it's there!

Mouse catching tips anyone?

I have caught them using the bottom of a large piece of tupperware, bringing it down over the mouse as they sprint around the floor after being flushed out.

Basically like using a drinking glass and piece of paper to catch a spider or bee.

I can usually get them with a tea towel but this one keeps jumping! It's quite cute actually, and rather more alive than normal..

you need a big saucepan move all the furniture to one side of the room and block off access then get the mouse into a corner and put the saucepan over him then get some cardboard like the glass and paper slide the card underneath turn whole thing over and evict live mouse, or put a cardboard box on its side and shoo mouse in the direction of the box then pick up when hes in there and hopefully he will go in as its dark and he will think he can hide from you ., good luck the last very live one i had in my front room took me two hours and a destroyed front room to evict

Put the cat in the room, shut the door and go watch a movie or something. Smile

No advice but did video my 2 ds both over 20 chasing a mouse around with a plastic measuring jug few years ago!! Was quite a sight. The cat sat watching in total awe!!

Are you sure it was 'awe'? Grin

I second the Tupperware container. Also boxing it in with books to make a smaller area to catch it.

Make sure there are literally no gaps though because they can squeeze through the tiniest holes!

Good luck!

I keep a " mouse box" ( plastic takeaway container with lid) on top of the radiator on the landing for just such occasions, as this area is the chief killing field. Try and line mouse up with cat and while it dithers about which direction is the lesser if two evils, slam box on top and slide lid under.
Of course, this doesn't work when I know he has one up there somewhere, but is sprawled out in sphinx pose, with a butter wouldn't melt face, then slowly lifts one paw to reveal a tiny baby mouse, the size of a walnut...
