Dental and heart murmur

Just having last minute nerves about booking my girl in for a dental.

We've had to get her hyperthyroidism back under control and the vet had concerns over some of her blood levels, all except for one have gone back to normal range now hyperthyroidism is controlled under.

She does have a decayed tooth and what looks to be lots of plaque to me. She's managing to eat. However, last week the vet picked up she had a heart murmur (I know this is common with hyperthyroidism but it's the first time anyone had mentioned it during the six times she's been checked since being diagnosed). The vet is willing to operate but has pointed out there's an increased risk as, if the heart murmur is recent, it could be down to an aging heart. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Also, if you've put your cat through a dental, how long did it take for them to recover?

I know when my girl had also had her hypothyroidsm recently controlled and also had a heart murmur, the vet said she would give her a dental but, at 14, it was maybe the last opportunity for one - I think she said due to the general anaethetic she'd need. My cat was pretty healthy in general, despite her conditions, so we went ahead and she seemed better really quickly. I think she did have a couple of teth out. If she'd been older and the vet had been less okay sounding about it I'd have left it though

Thanks for that, I really need to make my mind up today. We've going away soon and I want to make sure she's okay before we go, also we have recent blood tests so the vet won't need to do any more if it's soon.

The vet is happy to do it, but's is the heart murmur she was a bit concerned about. She's pretty good for 17 years and certainly doesn't look old, so could go on another year or so. We're going away in a couple of weeks, so I want a good week to make sure she's okay after that. I

My cat is 10 and had a dental earlier this year. He recovered really quickly (but is obviously 7 years younger than yours with no other health issues!) and was back to Normal bar a soft food diet in a couple of days.
