Kitten crying help!

Our new kitten is hiding away as to be expected. I've put food and water there and easy access to the litter tray so she's got everything she needs in easy reach. However she is crying constantly and I don't know what to do, it's a really loud distressed cry and so sad to hear. We've left her alone to hide and not tried to coax her out etc. as that's what's always worked previously but I don't want to leave her crying like this. She's been doing it for hours.

Is she a pedigree kitten such as rag doll or Siamese? They can be very vocal sometimes even as adults...if you have a large, soft teddy she can ' kneed' it to snuggle down it makes them feel secure. Beautiful kitten BTW.

Omg she is divine!!!
Spoil her with Lovely treats and insist on cuddles . Keep the dots open around the house so she can walk freely . She will gain her confidence.

Good luck .
Ps if not I'll have her!!

Sorry just read through quickly before and now see you have a teddy.

This is her current position in my bed. I can see already she's going to be the boss. 😂😂

She's a ragdoll. Can't keep doors open unfortunately as we have not yet introduced her to the adult cat. We are doing very slow introductions. The kitten has the run of the living room all day and then we bring her to bed at night. Adult cat has the rest of the house.

She is absolutely adorable! I was torn between a BSH and ragdoll when we got little Oz- he's a BSH but am still tempted by a ragdoll. I'm not sure how he'd take to a new kitten.
I was too scared of squashing him if we brought him to bed!

CatchingBabies · 11/06/2017 00:18

Me too! Hence I'm sat here awake daring not to move in case I wake her up and too scared to even move the blanket so I'm also cold. If she's awake she's crying usually so I'm trying to leave her settled. I'm taking the late night shift and my partner the early morning shift so we both get some sleep. I adore BSHs, definitely on my 'one day' list. What colour is Oz?

Have you left her carrier open? Mine likes to hide and sleep in that. How many of us on here have brought kittens home the past few days? There's quite Afew of us it's lovely. My new one doesn't cry and I think it must be because she's from a rescue. How is she playing? Have you got a dangly thing on a stick? I've been doing the dreamie thing of stroking her when she has one. I wonder if she likes dreamies?

CatchingBabies · 11/06/2017 12:12

Yep dangly thing on a stick she loves it! I don't feed dreamies due to the grain in them but she loves her natures menu treats. The way to her heart is definitely through her stomach!

Hope your gorgeous girl is settling in better today. We also had two new arrivals yesterday: 14 week old sisters Luna and Lola...they seem to be fine so far. Good luck and have lots of fun with her.

EachandEveryone · 11/06/2017 15:10

We should have a thread for our new arrivals there's loads of us at the moment

He's lovely. As is the ragdoll.

CatchingBabies · 13/06/2017 21:39

He is gorgeous! My little one has settled in loads since. No more crying unless she's left alone for a few minutes. She's rolling round purring and loving her cuddles now as well. Giving her a few more days to get settled and plan to introduce her to my adult cat.
