What is best for my mums/my cat?

My mum took my cat to live with her last year, as my poor cat was being traumatised by the noise and flapping that was coming from my son (SN) and was spending all day under my bed. (Please don't think badly of me for this)

She settled in really well at my mums and has got very fat and that is now completely her home. She's very happy.
My mum is due to go away on holiday for a week, and as a cattery is a definite no for Dcat (she's too nervy) I suggested that I either visit every day to feed her, change her litter, hang around with her etc, or she comes and stays here for the week.

It's better that I go there isn't it?

My mum is stressing that she'd be on her own when I'm not there, but I don't want Dcat to be worried that she's been sent back here to live.

WWYD?

Yes, go and see her every day to feed her and make a fuss of her

Yes just go and visit Dcat there!

Yes. She'll be fine with you popping in everyday.

I tried my two in a cattery for short periods and would never do it again, so the option is to stay at home. She will be on her own, but much much happier and can avoid the trauma of a cattery, yours or anywhere else. Also, I'm sure you still love her and also know her well enough to know if something isn't right and will give her the extra time if needed. I guess you couldn't have the option of staying one night mid week, that might your Mum with the idea.

Ah thank you, told my mum I'd asked on here and you'd all said she'll be fine Smile

I'd sleep over if I could, but I also have a dog and chickens (and the noisy DS) so it's not an option unfortunately.

I think my mum is worried that Dcat will miss her at night, but in reality I'm sure she'll be completely fine -and no doubt will get revenge by sleeping with her bum on my mum's pillow Grin

Thanks again!
