Trapping a pregnant stray this evening

Hi,
There's a very heavily pregnant cat that appears to be living in our garden. She has no collar and appears to be very hungry.
I've been feeding her but she won't let me touch her.
I've been In touch with a cat rescue charity and they are bringing me a trap to catch her and take her to the vets, they will then collect her and hopefully rehome her and the kittens.
I'm just a bit worried In case she has an owner, she's not wearing a collar and I assume they'll check for a microchip when she's at the vet.
She's very young and is always lurking in my garden so I don't think she has a home...
Where we live, there's loads of cats and they all go in and out of the gardens so there's no telling where she comes from.

Good luck! Hope the trap worked and this cat gets the help she needs.

All done! I caught her finally, just taken her to the vets.
My neighbour says she's already had 2 litters so I'm glad she'll not have anymore after theseSmile

Well done!

Absolutely brilliant, well done Grin

So glad she's going to be looked after now and that she won't have any more litters.

Thank you, I found out from the neighbours that she belonged to someone at the top of our street, they moved away and left her.
Her first litter disappeared Sad and two kittens from her second litter have been taken on and neutered by another neighbour.
Bless her, I've asked to be told when the kittens arrive and maybe we'll have oneSmile
Thanks for all your responses!!

Good on you and keep us updated if you adopt! I don't have anything nice to say about the people who left the cat behind. Actually if others knew what had happened why didn't they try to help her?

Wolfiefan · 23/05/2017 18:03

Well done. Poor cat. Who moves and leaves a cat to starve or have litter after litter?

tropical1 · 23/05/2017 18:05

That's a good question! My immediate neighbours that told me all this are quite elderly and not in the best of health but I dont know why the other one didn't. He's gone to the trouble of getting the other two kittens neutered but must have known she'd just keep on getting pregnant.

Will the cat be spayed and homed do you know?

tropical1 · 23/05/2017 20:18

Yes she will be checked by the vet and then as far as I know go to one of the charitys foster homes, have her kittens, be spayed and then when kittens are old enough, they'll all be rehome.
