Kitten and going on holiday?

Hi all,
Just after some advice/experiences pls.

We are getting a kitten in a few weeks but have a holiday abroad booked in July, for ten nights. Kitten will be almost 5 months. Not sure what to do, whether leave with family, cattery...I don't know!! Don't want to traumatise the cat and for her to become lonely.

I was honestly, genuinely following advice re rescue cats, that's the reason I knew, I had obviously originally looked into getting a rescue cat! Perhaps what I read wasn't quite accurate but I didn't know that at the time and we do really need to stick with our plans now. It certainly wasn't because i thought a rescue kitten/cat wasn't good enough!

Really appreciate some of the recent, understanding comments on here, thank you. I was also going to say, as a previous poster mentioned, I wouldn't have even posted on here if we didn't give a sh*t!! I have had plenty of friends say just have us call in and check on her but obviously had concerns and felt it was not enough.

This kitten will truly be loved and looked after. We have a loving Daughter and I work from home so will be there a lot. She will not be treated as simply an object!

@PersianCatLady you should be happy people do research into the type of cat that would suit their lifestyle rather than getting one because it's available and cute.

I expect you will get rid of your cat when it gets in the way of the next thing that YOU WANT
