Poor Pussy is really poorly

He is at the vets

He threw up 3/4 times on Sunday, was then a bit constipated (which I helped out) & was then fine

Then he was sick outside today (he is only ever sick inside on the carpet Hmm ) so I knew something was wrong

The vet says he is really poorly & I am so received it was his booster jab today as I honestly didn't notice anything other than a bit of sick

I feel such a bad owner Sad

Aww he looks really cosy snuggled up there , glad he seems a bit brighter this morning ,

years ago one of my dogs was dreadfully ill , vet couldn't get to the reason why , I nursed him , kept him warm , company , hand fed him , syringed water into the side of his mouth , electrolytes etc etc it took him weeks to come right but he eventually did , the only thing I could ever relate it to was that I had wormed him and possibly he had an adverse reaction to it

Hope your boy continues to improve

He is much better now

His poor bottom looks very sore but he isn't shivering & his fur looks a bit better

So fingers crossed

Not a vet, but this sounds a bit like refeeding syndrome in humans. Do cats get something similar?

katymac · 25/04/2017 08:59

I'll Google that - thanks

Poor baby.

Don't feel guilty, we only realised old boy was ill when we went away for a few days and on return realised how much weight he'd lost. He was still eating/drinking/ terrorising the neighbourhood…

They are masters at hiding symptoms

Low potassium and high sodium indicates dehydration. Which may be possible if he's had a huge poo.

katymac · 25/04/2017 11:43

Back in for another enema & he has done a huge, enormous poop!

They are keeping him again so they can see him eat & poop again - more results back Wed pm
