New cat coming tomorrow, catastrophe yesterday

We are picking up the beautiful Harold from the rescue centre tomorrow but a friend visited for the weekend bring two dogs and a young tom cat Hmm. Tom is not used to being indoors and has sprayed in DD's bedroom. It absolutely stinks in there now. We scrubbed, put down vanish and bicarb and plan on hiring a rug doctor today but I'm not confident of getting rid of the smell. Harold is in the refuge as his previous owners thought that either he or his brother were peeing in their house and he was deemed culprit. The refuge think it may have just been due to two boys sharing and that he'll be ok on his own but now our house stinks of tom will he?
Do we just need to rip out the carpet and get rid?
We're all so looking forward to Harold coming home and don't want anything to hinder him settling in or make him want to piss in the house 😷

He is gorgeous! His tail is so long and fluffy it's almost raccoon like. I might cave and feed him 3 times a day as I can't resist his handsomeness 😍

He is divine. And huge! Bastard Cat is a huge tabby too, not fat at all but looooooong. He demands food constantly, you'd think he was starving. Technically he gets one carton of bozita a day split into two meals but frequently cons either me or dh into thinking he hasn't been fed and getting an extra breakfast. Plus he polishes off any food he can find anywhere else.

Of course you can feed him three times a day! If you notice any signs of digestive distress then reduce back, but I feed my cats a pouch for breakfast, one for lunch, and dry food for dinner/overnight. Did they give a reason for feeding him less than an adult cat might normally have?

My kittens get 2 wet feeds a day and have dry out all the time. They were having 3 wet feeds but had been starting to leave some so I cut back to twice. They seem to be eating more of the dry food than they used to (storm used to refuse it completely but now seems to enjoy it).
