Anyone with experience of ear tumours?

I really really hope I'm wrong. But ive just looked in my 11 year old cats ears and it looks like a greyish growth that looks like a brain is growing out of both of them Confused. Obviously will book him a vet appointment asap but I stupidly googled and the images look like tumours Sad Now I feel sick. Anyone have any advice?

I think it would be a bit unusual to get simultaneous tumours in both ears? Never experienced this with a cat but you are doing the right thing with a vet trip. Try not to panic.

Haematoma? My old cat got them fighting. . When they operated it left his ears looking like cauliflower ears!!

Littlemissindependent · 11/04/2017 20:14

No, they're actually growing out of his ears? As in, where you should be able to see down his ears, they're nearly completely blocked. I've genuinely never noticed it before, now I'm really worried

Ear wax?

Trustyourself2 · 11/04/2017 20:44

Do they look like this? Says they're benign cysts.

MaryMarigold · 11/04/2017 20:57

Yes my cat has these. She is 10 and has had them for 2-3 years. She doesn't like her ears being touched but the vet has said that she's not in pain otherwise, and they're better off left alone unless they deteriorate. Look just like the pic above.

Littlemissindependent · 11/04/2017 21:08

No, these look like a big mass. In one ear much bigger than the other.

This is ear wax in a cat. Does it look like that?

My cat lost an ear to cancer, it does sound rather similar to what she had growing on her ear. But might not be, cos there are other things they can have on their ears.

She's fine now. Hated the plastic collar thing but recovered really well from the op and has had no trouble since, more than a year later. She's about 13 and very sprightly for her age.

Oh I'm an idiot, you wrote in their ears, My cat had something ON her ear. Sorry for the confusion.

Trustyourself2 · 13/04/2017 21:46

Did you get a diagnosesecond? Hope he's ok.

Trustyourself2 · 13/04/2017 21:48

Diagnosis!

My cat has something like this, she's 17 and has had them for years. Vet told me that some cats just get them and they're harmless. Best to check with your vet though.
