Litter litter litter!

So we are after some different litter thanks to the shop stopping stocking our normal sanicat gold. We usually use clumping and the sanicat is the least dusty and least offensive smelling we have found.
What do you all use?

Surely the volume of wee the cats do is the same regardless of litter, so will take the same volume of cat litter to soak up?

I think the thinking is that you don't have to bin the 'base litter' as often, so yes you scoop out the same amount of wee clumps in litter (maybe even more if it clumps better) but you have to bin the base litter ever 4-6 weeks rather than every 1 week.

TBH I don't get 4-6 weeks out of the base litter but I also have zero smells and the litter isn't all dusty like some of the cheaper ones.
