The five different types of cat personality

Article in the Mail online (no idea how to link, sorry) says cats fall into one of five personality types - human, hunter, cantankerous, cats' cat and inquisitive.
My boy is human. Not a lap cat but does enjoy snuggling up close in bed, head butts, etc, and adapts very well when we take him to my mom's or on holiday.

Madam BrokenCat is a humans' cat, loves to sit on me, head-butts, wails piteously and paw swipes if I dare to be doing something else when she wants attention.
She's also quite curious, does the sniffing around bags thing if anyone visits, loves attention from most people (I judge people by whether she likes them).
She loves hunting toys but cba to hunt real creatures. Hates other cats. Not really cantankerous, unless of course I displease Madam.

But Rubbish. We do all love "peculiar semi bald cats with ringlets." He's too cute for words!

Denzel's pink nose - beyond cute!

Leroy has certainly got a very puffy tail. It's the one bit of him that is genuinely all fluff. People think he's not fat - just very fluffy. He is very fluffy, but he's a bit fat too!

Amber - Denzel is adorable! And has a fab name too. Can't take credit for naming Leroy though - the rescue named him.

Rubbish - ummm... I think LittleM's assumption is correct! However I think we need a photo - just so I can check. 😉

I have one cantankerous cat. I was going to describe him as diva. One inquisitive cat, he gets into carrier bags and sometimes wears them as capes. And one hunter cat, but he also is human cat. He won't go outside so hunts his toys. He is so cuddly and meows loudly to explain things.

Inquisitive cat will also pat ankles to help you down the stairs.

Here's a couple of little M. Grin

He too has a tremendously floofy, puffy tail! It's almost like he got given the wrong size tail.

Here's the article text:

THE HUMAN CAT
The Human Cat is generally happy to share your home, your life and often your personal space.

It can be identified by its willingness to gently head-butt you.

It likes to make your lap their 'spot' and will likely knead you with its paws on a regular basis.

The ideal home for the Human Cat is a vibrant family home with plenty of faces to nuzzle and laps to nap on; after all, if they fit they'll sit.

The more human attention and chin scratches the better for this friendly.

The Human Cat tends to knead you with its paws and gently knuzzle its head into you in a sign of affection

THE HUNTER CAT

Whilst most cats are born with hunting instincts, this cat character excels at stalking and capturing its prey.

The Hunter Cat can be identified through its interactions with realistic cat toys.

It will often clasp toys in its teeth while it frantically kicks.

The best environment for this adventurer is a home with plenty of rural outdoor space.

This will allow it to explore, chase and pounce to their hearts content, without the worry of urban dangers like busy roads.

The Hunter Cat is the most feral of the personalities, regularly interacting with realistic cat toys and showing signs of an expert hunter

THE CAT'S CAT
As is the case with the Human Cat, the Cat's Cat has to be nurtured into developing positive relationships with other felines, which can often go against their nature to see them as a threat to resources.

The trick is, as with humans, to socialise them when they're young, exposing them to other cats and kittens.

You can identify a Cat's Cat through its willingness to play with and groom its furry siblings, touching noses and rubbing up against each other.

A Cat's Cat may cope better living with other felines, but even well socialised cats can be choosy about who they share their bed with.

This cat may be perfect for young working couples who can leave their partners in crime to run riot throughout the day.

The Cat's Cat has to be nurtured into developing positive relationships with other cats, but the trick is to socialise them while they're young

THE CANTANKEROUS CAT
The Cantankerous Cat is more easily frustrated than his four counterparts and can be less tolerant to being handled, due to being quite sensitive to touch, their environment and being on high alert.

These felines require more time and effort to make sure they're comfortable when interacting with humans.

The Cantankerous Cat can be identified by its need for its own space to play, explore independently and preference for regular but less 'hands on' interactions with humans.

It needs to make the first move when it comes to being handled.

The Cantankerous Cat enjoys time on its own, and will explore independently without any human input

THE INQUISITIVE CAT
The Inquisitive Cat can be a keen investigator, sniffing around anything and anyone unfamiliar.

But this inquisitiveness is a combination of DNA and exposure to new sights, smells and sounds from a young age.

The Inquisitive Cat can be identified by its eagerness to explore and investigate anything new in their environment.

It could cope well in a home that sees new people coming and going, or even as an office cat.

But be warned, it'll get into every box, bag, handbag and lap that enters its domain.

Living up to its name, the Inquisitive Cat likes to explore its surroundings and will approach people it doesn't know with caution

I think Little M needs a Facebook fan page.

RubbishMantra · 31/01/2017 11:05

You've made him blush. Toddler.

He's being inquisitive cat today, as I'm having the front room ceiling painted and he's following the decorator around. I am crapping myself, because he's like a little curly streak of lightening when the front door's open - allowed out the back, but not the front.

NotAPuffin · 31/01/2017 11:15

I have two very devoted human cats. So much so that they'll stand and shout at us to sit down immediately and provide laps.

Fluffycloudland77 · 31/01/2017 12:44

I human/hunter/inquisitive all in one cat #blessed#dhiscoveredinscratches

Trustyourself2 · 31/01/2017 14:55

Oh Rubbish, little M is adorable. You must love coming home to him.

ememem84 · 31/01/2017 17:20

This is Miss Millie. We are best friends. Until she chews on my hand/elbow.

He is a little delight, Trust, and helped me through some difficult times. He does have his "dickhead days" though! But who could get angry with that little cat face. He's like a pixie, cat, monkey and dog all in one.

WeedsCat's ruff seems to be taking on a life of it's own!

Papergirl1968 · 31/01/2017 20:24

Little M bears more than a passing resemblance to ET! Grin
