How big is your biggest cat?

I've had many cats but for whatever reason probably because I gravitate towards the runts they've all been very petite and only around 3.2kg when fully grown.

We have two kittens at the moment that have been with us since birth as we fostered their pregnant mother cat.

The girl was the runt and is 2.12kg at 18 weeks. I expect she'll stay quite small as she has very petite features.

The boy, Luke Skywhiskers, though.....what a monster!

He has been weighed at the vets this morning as 3.4kg at 18 weeks old!

Any guesses as to how big he might end up? What does your biggest cat weigh?

He does this all bloody day. Out the cat door, round the house, back through the door. The other one does too. Drives me bonkers!!!! Especially when it's -30 out and they do the 'ooooh I'm not really sure I want to come in, maybe I'll rub against the door frame for a minute' thing and I'm stood there in pjs freezing to death.

InterchangeableEmma · 14/12/2016 21:00

Oh FFS, linked the wrong chart and can't find the right one. One I linked says "months" where it should say "weeks" Hmm

Vinorosso74 · 14/12/2016 21:01

Vinocat only weighed 2.7kg last vet visit two weeks ago. She was 4.2kg at her heaviest. She is 14 and diabetic hence so dinky.
Our last cat was a flabby tabby, I think he was 6kg+ at his heaviest and his belly did sag down. He, like all the other neighbourhood cats would be fed an afternoon tea of fishy treats by one of our neighbours which contributed to this!

This big.

Siberian. About 10 years old. He's basically a teddy.

They have an uncanny ability to shrink when they snuggle, don't they Herman? Mine is the size and shape of a 25 portion Christmas turkey, covered in black fluff, when in "cat loaf" position. All back end!

Autumnchill · 14/12/2016 21:07

Weeds Shock he's lovely but I wouldn't want him sleeping on my back like one of mine does!

Weedsnseeds1 · 14/12/2016 21:13

He sleeps next to me autumn , it's when he jumps "lightly" from floor to sternum or full bladder while you are sound asleep that heart-stopping adrenaline response sets in!

CMOTDibbler · 14/12/2016 21:14

evilgingercat is around 9kg. He's not fat at all, just solid muscle and attitude. He's currently teaching my foster puppies to have a healthy respect for cats

Bum in the warm, door open is the goal of all cats.

cozietoesie · 14/12/2016 21:16

That dog certainly looks as if it knows who's boss, CMOT. Smile

Weedsnseeds1 · 14/12/2016 21:18

He's bigger than a lot of dogs, dibbler !! I love a big cat, their massive paws and rambling purrs 😂

Lanaorana1 · 14/12/2016 21:22

All these kitties are adorable. I am pigsick of people telling me Mr C is 'at risk of weight gain'. He is about 6.something at the moment, which is not fat. Not even that coodly (altho he is cuddly heaven).

When he does get fat, he knows I struggle to lift him, and gets naughty.

IHaveBrilloHair · 14/12/2016 21:22

I've never weighed him, but hoooge, he's half Maine coon.

evilgingercat has an excellent purr - its sort of a gurgling noise, quite unlike anything I've ever heard. And huge furry feet. Weirdly, you can't see his skin at all, even when you part the hair and he never gets really wet

hollinhurst84 · 14/12/2016 21:34

Ollie is teeny. About 3.4kg dinky cat Smile

SoupDragon · 14/12/2016 21:36

FatCat was 7.5kg at his peak. A year ago, after at least 6 months dieting, he was at his fighting weight of 6.5kg. In the next few weeks I will discover whether he has kept it off.

He's a long bog standard tabby - at full stretch he can stand on the floor with his front paws on the kitchen work top.

SoupDragon · 14/12/2016 21:37

The late SoupKitten, his companion, was a little under 4kg. They were like chalk and Cheese!

Fluffycloudland77 · 14/12/2016 21:40

Some cats are just big, there was an interview a while ago on bbc ws with a dr who was researching weight issues and she said all these sayings like being big boned are actually true.

If it's on bbc ws it's automatically true.

lubeybooby · 14/12/2016 21:42

7kg and quite tall

Weedsnseeds1 · 14/12/2016 21:45

It's only a 2 seater chaise, just incase anyone is imagining a 5 foot cat!

DramaAlpaca · 14/12/2016 21:45

Last time our ginger boy went to the vet for a check up, the vet's first remark was 'hmm, I bet he doesn't stray far from the food bowl.'

She was surprised when she weighed him to find that he's actually only about 6kg, but he looks much bigger because he's quite fluffy. Watching him go through the cat flap is funny, it looks like a real squeeeeze Grin

cozietoesie · 14/12/2016 21:48

Seniorboy's vet practice has a list on the wall (big picture poster) of the most calorific things you can give your cat or dog.

I'm sitting there taking mental notes of the really big hitters. Poor lad - I'm keeping his weight up but it's not always easy.

(I think that the list is meant for warning purposes, actually! Grin)

Fluffycloudland77 · 14/12/2016 21:52

Don't worry cozie, when the time comes you can have asbo cat to comfort you. You would love him.

I have had dreams you take asbo off me. Then I wake up.

Bb90 · 14/12/2016 21:53
