Is my new cat not eating enough?

I have just adopted an adult cat.

Bought a batch of food from the rescue centre to provide consistency. They warned me he was fussy about food...

He eats around half a pouch of his favoured royal canin chicken wet food when offered in the evening. Mornings, he seems to have little interest in a new pouch, maybe a couple of mouthfuls. He'll snack on some applaws dry food (chicken flavour) but isn't going wild for it. It is what he had at the rescue centre

Has totally ignored lily's kitchen catch of the day fish flavoured wet food and nature's menu game hunter wet food so far.

He is just not that interested in food, it seems. He isn't even enthused by treats, he'll gently take one if offered right in his face but all other cats I have known would mug you for a sniff of them!

I'd prefer he ate wet food as I understand it's better if they are prone to constipation. He only poos once a day or once every other day, as he did at rescue centre. Was checked by vet in rescue centre who found nothing wrong with his digestion/urinary tract. Had some minor dental work done at rescue. Is normal weight, has glossy coat. Greatly prefers to drink his water from a human glass (only fresh will do) and not a cat bowl. I have ordered a cat fountain for him to see if he likes that more.

He seems happy and is curled up on me purring now.

Is there anything to worry about? Maybe he just naturally doesn't have a big appetite but I was under the impression an adult cat of a reasonable size would be looking at least two pouches of wet food a day plus a reasonable bit of dry food. He probably in total has 2/3 of a pouch and a small handful of dry a day.

Hi, my cats are given 1/2 pouch each in the morning (gourmet perle) then a handful of biscuits each left down for them to snack on in the day, then another 1/2 pouch each in the evening with another handful of biscuits left down overnight. They very rarely eat it all and one is a large male cat.

I'm by no means an expert but have had cats my whole life and they've always been healthy and a good weight and have been fed this amount.

Also, one of our cats is really food driven (suddenly appears looking for scraps whenever we're cooking) whilst the other isn't interested in food at all, he isn't even interested is fresh beef or chicken if offered!! They're all individuals, maybe your new cat just isn't a foodie!
