Finally found an amazing cat groomer!!

After two traumatic experiences, one for the cats and one for me. I finally found a mobile groomer who covers my area. She was amazing, great with the cats and they look gorgeous, even if they didn't enjoy it they were well behaved. Totally pointless post but with two long haired Persians it's a relief to have found the right person. GrinGrinXmas Grin

How long did she take to do both? Smile

Toddlerteaplease · 06/12/2016 15:10

About an hour and a half. One takes much longer than the other. £72 for both.

Don't they look smart? All fluffed up for Christmas!

cozietoesie · 06/12/2016 15:25

It wouldn't occur to me, I confess, but then I've never had Persians. How often do you reckon she'll need to groom them?

Toddlerteaplease · 06/12/2016 15:42

They were last done last April but could probably do with being some a bit more often.

I suppose that if you have them groomed that little bit more often, their fur will have fewer tangles so it will be a pleasanter experience for them? Smile

LowDudgeon · 06/12/2016 19:59

Does she have some kind of cat straitjacket & chainmail kittens for them? Grin

Mine (not long-haired) will tolerate a very small amount of furminating - back & sides only - before beating a retreat!

LowDudgeon · 06/12/2016 20:00

kittens = mittens

(autocorrect knows this is the litter tray Grin)

YesItsMeIDontCare · 06/12/2016 20:02

Awww bless them! They might not like it, but I bet they feel better for it afterwards. 😺

cozietoesie · 06/12/2016 20:36

I'll confess to wondering if the white and purple ball (Picture 2) was a 'tool of the trade' but felt it might be indelicate to ask. Grin

Lanaorana1 · 06/12/2016 21:33

Stunning. You have found the Nicky Clarke of cat hairdressing.

Toddlerteaplease · 06/12/2016 22:11

I spent half an hour wondering what the ball thing was! They were incredibly well behaved during it. A bit of growling from Maia but her siste just laid on her lap. Low Dudgeon try a grooming take as furminators only take the top off and don't deal with the undercoat. Since I've been using it we've only had a couple of knots.

Ah. So it is a 'tool of the trade'? Grin

Toddlerteaplease · 07/12/2016 09:09

Yes it is. What did you think it was? HmmGrin

ClaudiaNaughton · 07/12/2016 09:14

Well, it could be an anaesthetic bowl which I would need for my cat.

YesItsMeIDontCare · 07/12/2016 10:20

Oh I thought the purple ball thing was something with food in - like one of those things to mentally stimulate your pet.

OK my first thought was that the cat was nicking some food out of a storage tub, but then thought I was just projecting Fatroy's Leroy's behaviour.

Toddlerteaplease · 07/12/2016 11:32

I thought it was a hamster ball!

OP posts:
Toddlerteaplease · 07/12/2016 11:33

Yesitsme, they never steal anything. They are quite boring really!

OP posts:
YesItsMeIDontCare · 07/12/2016 11:36

Well if it was a hamster ball it would explain why your cat's head was in it 😂.

TinaBacon · 07/12/2016 11:44

My cat is a moggy so this is all new to me. Is that ball thing like a straitjacket for your cat's head?

Toddlerteaplease · 07/12/2016 11:53

Apparently so. It's to calm vicious cats down.

TInaBacon · 07/12/2016 12:02

And can they see out? Or is it completely sealed? That's fascinating!

cozietoesie · 07/12/2016 12:48

It is. Smile

It looks to have holes round the neck and - from what you can see in the photo - some sort of window in front. Any 'groomers' around?

TinaBacon · 07/12/2016 13:24

Yes, I couldn't work out from the photo whether it has a window in the front.

I can't imagine my cat enjoying having her head encased in a bowling ball, but I think I'd rather like the dark and the quiet. I'd like one without a window. Grin

cozietoesie · 07/12/2016 14:53

Ah - found a version of sorts. It's called an 'Air Muzzle'. (Says it's not suited for home use by the way.)
