House treated, cats treated and still seeing the odd flea

Hopefully someone can point my to the next step here.

We have treated both our cats with advocate. We have treated the house 3 times (twice with Indonex (sp?) and once professionally). We have hoovered the house to within an inch of its life. Washed everything removable several times. 2 weeks on I am still seeing the odd live flea. Not every day and we are no longer being bitten...but still.

This is my theory. The cats got them from somewhere. They probably still go back to wherever that is. Could they be picking them up and bringing them in the house before the fleas have had a chance to bite them and die or be killed by the treatments in the house?

Possible or me just burying my head in the sand and not facing facts that we could STILL be infested. please tell me this is possible

When were they last wormed?
Flea treatment & worm treatment must go hand in hand reguarly to break the cycle.

Flea every 4 weeks.
Worm every 12 weeks but wait a week or two, after the last flea treatment.

What's the connection with worms? We do worms them but they are maybe not up to date. I thought fleas could give them worms but not the other way round.

Aghhhh this is endless!!!

You will still see fleas for a while yet. The spray kills the eggs, adults and larvae but not the chrysalis stage of the life cycle. So there will still be some chrysalis lurking around in the furniture, cracks between walls and carpet etc, which will hatch when heat and vibrations pass by. Once they jump on the treated cat they will die, but it can take a few weeks to get rid completely.
We have been through it and its awful. We had a proper infestation when our old girl died, we went on holiday and came back to a house full of hatching fleas. There was no host so we woke them up and became the host! Blurgh. Very stressful.
New, treated cat has been our secret weapon. She has also had the program injection which makes any female biting flea infertile. Cost around £30 but boy was it worth it.
Other tips, chuck out the hoover bag each time you hoover, spray the inside of the hoover. And if you've been treated professionally get them back! You shouldn't have to pay if you're still seeing fleas.
Good luck.

That's out my mind at rest a bit posie.

Yes we have been emptying hoover outside and spraying it. I only paid for the professional to come as a one odd as it was over double the price for him to do a guaranteed treatment and I figured I'd just pay the one off again if we needed.

Sounds like we just need to keep at it for a bit. Such a pain. I wouldn't mind but I'm so vigilant with flea treatment and has no idea frontline no longer works. How are they allowed to sell it?
