Indoor cats - what litter do you use?

We've always had a litter tray, even when our two cats went out. Now they're indoors full time and obviously the tray is getting used more. We've always used catsan because we find other brands smell.

It's costing a bomb to use catsan now. I've just tried some cheap tesco litter and it absolutely reeks after one night.

I've tried mixing catsan and cheap stuff and it doesnt seem to make any difference.

We've never had any luck with the wood chip type ones, the smell is much stronger and also it breaks up and goes everywhere.

Does anyone have a magical solution for this? Or do I have to give in and spend more on catsan?

Worlds best is the best we've ever had!

It clumps brilliantly without sticking to the litter tray. So much easier cleaning it out

We use catsan. I tried the cheaper stuff and it was a nightmare, went everywhere and didn't seem to work as well. We clean poo out as soon as we notice it. And change it as necessary. We also use a light sprinkling of litter freshener daily to keep it fresh. (Our cat is a 5 year old neutered half Ragdoll).
Tesco used to do a brilliant cat litter. It used to be in a pink and yellow bag, a big bag the same size as the catsan. It was fairly cheap and worked well. Then they stopped doing it. I was gutted.

We also use World's best. I buy a huge sack once every three months or so and I have four cats here using trays! I bought a plastic scoop which I use to top up the trays when needed but found I've only had to properly empty and clean out the trays once in the last six months as it works so well.

As for tracking, I managed to find a wonderful tray that goes in front of the litter box which acts as a scratch pad and also catches all the bits of litter on their paws. Costs about £10 from pets at home and worth it for the tray that we have upstairs!

Mine will only use a wood pellet one. We are trying Morrisons own at the moment & its great.
No smell, Changed every 4 days.
Poo scooped out immediately.
Costing around £6 every 6 weeks.

Are your boys neutered?
