Should they be allowed to go in and out? Say, after 9pm? We are getting a microchip flap.

At this time of year, yes. He's frightened of the fireworks. Otherwise no. He loves being out at night in the summer.

idiotcat occasionally stays out overnight...he will slip out like a ninja after supper, or when the dogs go out.

but the official party line is no outdoors after supper. I do leave the porch window open for him though, I could not bear to think he'd be Out Out all night.

Having a semi nocturnal teen helps though....he tends to let the dogs out again when he finishes gaming at whatever ungodly hour, and idiotcat is usually waiting.

He is so funny the day after a night out though...just like someone with a bit of a hangover, over tired, sleeping it all off!

We have a microchip cat flap that is set to in only from 4.30pm and opens again at 7.30am. The cat killer has struck near us too so there's no way he's staying out at night.

Does he have Siamese in him, Meryl? Smile They sleep through in my experience.

Cat killer struck again in our town last night. I'd love to get hold the sick bastard.

Oh no. There was an article in Croydon advertiser online about it again this week.

FoxesOnSocks · 04/11/2016 07:28

Generally yes the cat flap is locked to in only from dusk onwards. Though I'm deeply suspicious it wasn't last night as he hasn't come up and sat and stared at me yet. Even on days it isn't locked he tends to not go back out till the morning.

Mine will sleep all night too Meryl.

No clue about his background but he looks very ordinary moggy like to me (though a totally gorgeous and wonderful moggy) so I doubt there's any Siamese.

He did have GINORMOUS ears as a kitten - but that's standard isn't it?
