Grief overwhelming

Hi all,
I don't really know why I'm posting this message as I know time is the only healer but last night my beautiful Siamese boy was hit by a car and killed. He was only 4 and the best cat I could have wished for.
Upset is an understatement. I am beside myself.
He was my little furry shadow. I could ramble on for ages about his lovely little quirks but just the thought makes me feel sick with grief.

I intend to keep myself busy today but want to avoid people to save an embarrassing situation of bursting into tears on them

Heartbroken.

RIP.

These words give me some comfort-

We who choose to surround ourselves
with lives even more temporary than our
own, live within a fragile circle;
easily and often breached.
Unable to accept its awful gaps,
we would still live no other way.
We cherish memory as the only
certain immortality, never fully
understanding the necessary plan.

I'm so sorry and quite understand why you're so upset xxx

Oh that's such a terrible shock! I remember when my childhood cat was run over - I cried for weeks

We had our 20 year old PTS a couple of months ago and I cry at odd moments

We are going to scatter her ashes under her favourite bush and I picked up a large pebble on the beach to put there - I think we'll inscribe it with this:

"How Lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard"

(AA Milne - Winnie the Pooh)

BTW - I think people in RL can understand - if you pick wisely the ones to tell Flowers. Don't be embarrassed

We had to have our beautiful boy put to sleep in August and I'm still crying at least once a day when I think about him. Bailey would have had the most lovely life and known just how much he was loved. Take care of your self x

Wolfiefan · 08/10/2016 19:13

I'm so so sorry for the loss of your beautiful Bailey. Truly such a stunner.
Do not feel guilty. You made him happy and he knew he was loved for every minute of his four years. It won't seem anything like long enough to you but he had a happy lifetime. He was lucky to have you and you will never forget him. They live on in our hearts.

Today is the dreaded day I have to pick up my boys ashes. Its going to be extremely embarrassing having a meltdown in the vets. Sad

I've seen practice staff lose it themselves over individual animals, Fun.

Don't worry about anything apart from bringing your boy home.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 11/10/2016 10:17

PLEASE don't worry about crying in front of staff. My sister is a vet nurse and lost a one of her dog patients last week ,she phoned me up and told me all about how she'll miss giving him belly rubs. She was very teary. xxx

Be kind to yourself FunSponge82, it has been such a short time and how you're feeling is normal. Flowers

Threetoedsloth · 11/10/2016 15:08

So difficult. I had to wear a hat pulled down very low when I collected my lilac Siamese girl- phew that's 20 years ago. The practice nurses were so kind to me.They know how much we love our dear ones. You'll get through.Bring him home, bless him.

FunSponge82 · 11/10/2016 15:55

:( I couldn't go. I was sobbing at the thought of going so my Mum offered to go for me.

I have this huge siamese shaped hole in my life and an unrelenting urge to fill it. Sad

I'm so sorry, FunSponge. My cat died last night. He was 19. I don't really want to think about it.
