Cat with a cut head - vet?

I have a 5yr old house cat that never ventures outside.

Tonight when I came home from work (about 6pm) teen Dd said that the cat had just made a big sound like she had never heard before.

He's been fine all evening, playing, trying to steal food, eating and has just settled down on my knee and I've noticed a cut on the back of his head. It looks quite a sore one but seems to have scabbed over. I'm assuming this was what made him make a noise earlier. He had been chasing a fly and I wonder if he's bashed his head on the side of something. I've wiped it with a clean wet cloth and it's not bleeding or anything and cat is acting normal (not that he is ever really normal?!) Do I need to see a vet?

Seem ok this morning! Phew!

Might be a fight wound too, if he goes off his food or seems quiet then he needs a vet.
