Our lovely Gizzy started having problems with her legs two weeks ago, she was all wobbly and couldn't get into her basket. We took her to the vet thinking (hoping) it was just another ear infection as the last one made her lose her balance like this.
Sadly the vet said there was a lump on her spine which was putting pressure on her legs and a blood test showed some kind of infection. She gave her anti-biotics and an anti-flammatory but this didn't work, she said the lump in most likely a tumour and as Gizzy is an older cat (13) they wouldn't operate. So we started her on steroids to see if it would help but they haven't, she was been incontinent for about 10 days and today when I picked her up some maggots fell of her 
I have been bathing her everyday as she can't clean herself or get on her tray but she's starting to get sores and I can't watch her dragging herself about anymore.
I feel so so bad and will need to tell the DC when they come in from school. She is a lovely, friendly cat who only wants cuddles.
