Fickle MCat!

He began refusing Applaws dry, and would only eat wet. I like to leave dry down between wet meals, in case they want to snack. Little M's happy with the Applaws dry to snack on, he seems to prefer it to wet.

Have had good reports on Orijen, ordered a small bag, which he liked. I ordered a big bag, costing 45 quid , and he just looked at it in dizz-gust and stalked off! Angry

There are now 4 different types of cat foods down, for 2 cats. The only wet food Little M will eat is Gourmet Cat Soup, (to ensure he's hydrated) he mainly eats Applaws dry. Animonda Rafiné Soupé went down well for a week or so... Then the Hmm looks started.

Am I pandering too much and creating a rod for my own back?

The Black Blob will eat Arden Grange dry, chicken and potato flavour only and that's it. All attempts to treat him to gourmet food are met with a "deeply disappointed in you" stare.

Thanks everyone for the tips. Will give Country Hunter (which MCat indeed used to be) and the Sheba and fake glittery Sheba from Aldi. Gold foil must = "extravagant" to felines. :D

The Orijen Dry (most expensive dry cat food EVER!) seems to be acceptable to Lord MCat, also Animonda Rafine Soupe, but only certain flavours. He still looks sulky and hard done by at meal times, and is pretending to eat nothing. He gets around this by eating when I've gone to bed, at the same time polishing off any scraps little M has left.

Ta muchly for the lovely PM Lana, will reply later. How's garlic foot bloke? I love garlicky, stinky cheese, so I'd have wanted to lick them or maybe not. reminds me, I still have a Milleens in the freezer, Lord knows how we got it (3 in fact) through customs...

Platypus, is it the wet or dry J. Wellbeloved your cat likes?

Sorry, no tips on water fountains, having never used one. Maybe float a couple of ping pong balls in it?

Have you tried leaving food out for him to steal? Nice nibbles such as ham and chicken. Mr C goes mad for an M&S sandwich.

Oh god yes, Lana. He'll daintily remove the top layer of bread, lick off all the mayonnaise, (Best Thing Ever) then carefully hook out the ham and run away with it.

I agree with him re. mayonnaise. I couldn't live without it.
