Adopting two kittens... not sure now

Hello everyone
We have no pets and two children (aged 5 and 4). We have been talking about getting a pet for a while and a couple of days ago I saw on a Facebook pet site that someone is selling two kittens. They're really cute and we all love the photos of them. But now I am just not 100% sure. I've not had kittens/cats before and I'm worried that my house will be full of hair or smell. Can anyone advise me before we make a decision? I don't want to get kittens and then be shocked.

If you're working full time, then don't do it. These little babies need feeding 4-5 times a day.

Don't get kittens if you're out all day. Try a rescue. We got a mum and son pair. Young adults. Much calmer. Settled quickly. No shredding of furniture etc.

So pleased you've decided against getting them, OP - for all the reasons you give.

You did the right thing, particularly because of your work hours.

Plenty of time to get a slightly older cat/s who won't need nearly so much attention. Also, if you get them from a rescue, they will already have been neutered, received all their jabs etc.

Fuzzy you are quite right about long hair. If they shed it, it's in little clumps that you can just roll up into a ball and pick up. All the short hairs we've had it for everywhere and sticks like glue. Maybe a Persian cross would suit as Persians are a bit quieter and very well behaved. (Well mine are)
