Bloody Senior Cat Food

DP was stupidly entrusted with the weekly shop. He came back with a giant (and expensive) bag of Iams cat biscuits- for 7+ cats . Our lovely babe is only a year, but he's ripped the bag open now so no returning it for the right ones. What IS the different between senior and adult biscuits? Not wanting to bin them but don't want to harm cat-face!

Probably lower in protein.

As fluffy said they are most likely just lower protein, and possibly slightly different calorie values.

AFAIK cats can usually eat the next stage up (although it's not ideal) but not the one below eg adult cats shouldn't eat kitten food.

I presume that doesn't apply to adults and seniors Weird? I don't bother with senior food as there's such a rubbish choice of flavours - NM only has one and he's not keen on it.

Senior cat food has lower levels more easily digestible protein, very unlikely to harm a 1 year old cat of he is very active cat you may have to feed more than the feeding guide suggests.

How about mixing it half and half with his usual biscuits?

You could offer it to a cat shelter, too. Consider it your good cat deed for the year.
