Introducing kittens and puppies!

We have a 12 week old kitten Berlioz :)
He's very brave and very funny!
We are picking up our westie poo poo little girl Pup (to be called either Fleur or Ivy- we're undecided!) on 20th August.
I'd appreciate tips on how to introduce my two little ones to each other :)

I don't really have much experience with this, but if you can get a blanket or something that belongs to the pup then it might be a good idea to bring it home so the kitten can get used to the smell.

Also I wouldn't leave them unsupervised together for a few weeks at least - both can be boisterous and you wouldn't want them getting hurt (even accidentally).

I think you need to go very slowly with it, cats are extremely sensitive animals.

Cat international will have advice on it, worst thing to do would be to plonk them together in the lounge and let them get on with it.

Berlioz is gorgeous. I think this could be a disaster. Kittens run. Pups will chase. Introducing a kitten to a new home. Then a pup. Then the issue of recovery from neutering. Kitten can't go out but dog needs to get in the garden. Nightmare.
Also is it a Westie or a cross breed! Surely not a Westie poodle mix?!

Yes a westie toy poodle mix, here is her brother (from first litter)

It should be ok. Keep pup and kitten seperate if you can't supervise. Don't let the puppy chase the kitten. Do let the kitten tell the puppy off if she gets too over excited but don't let the kitten attack iyswim.

The kitten can be neutered before the puppy can so make sure you get him done as soon as you can.

Apart from that let them get on with it. They will work out their differences

I hope it goes well but would be a little concerned because of Westies' very strong prey drive.

If raised from a very young age some dogs with a prey drive don't care.

I had a JrT around 3 cats. He chased but once he caught them, he just sat there and waited for them to run again. He couldn't climb stairs and they used to sit about 3 steps up pissing him off. All you would hear was a dog going nuts and a cat sat there washing itself
