Zara eats flies

My dainty fairy princess, offspring of a prizewinning Abysinnian Queen, has taken to stalking flies, biting them out of mid-air, and eating them with an expression of great satisfaction. Apart from the ick factor, this is harmless right? Do other cats do it?

my two both do it, the fun part is when they spit them out, half chewed and then spend the next 5 minutes stalking them across the carpet and batting at them with their paws before they finally eat them.

The spiders don't get eaten, i find them half chewed, spat out and all curled up in random places. I dont think they like the legs.

Thank you, I love her very much. She's a one person cat and we are truly bonded.

She might have had a different father from her littermates, I suppose. Wink An open window after all........

She looks very self- controlled and calm there.

She's very happy that I'm living alone right now (though I'm not - 2 year job contract, fabulous experience/offer/money, but out in the middle of nowhere). A whole house/garden just for her and Bibi and all my attention is her dream come true, that's why she's looking so smug at the moment.

Well. 'Smug' would be another way of putting it. Grin

RubbishMantra · 06/07/2016 13:19

She's so pretty!

Best they eat the fly than this happen...

iloveeverykindofcat · 06/07/2016 14:42

True Grin

And then today I caught her drinking slimy rainwater. Has she suddenly decided to embrace the street side of her heritage or something?

......as long as she's neutered?......Grin

Fluffycloudland77 · 06/07/2016 17:43

I think it's the moggy side coming out.

RubbishMantra · 06/07/2016 21:12

Nah, LM 's got an excellent pedigree, yet loves slimy water from the drain and drinking from the toilet. He sometimes digs the slimy stuff out and brings it in, as a gift for me. Bastard never bothers with the gift wrap and curly bows though.

MCat looks on in disdain.

Yes mine too, she is excellent at catching them Smile

RubbishMantra, I love LM through the internet.

Thank you. Smile He's such a sweet, mischievous little soul.
