My cat got knocked down & killed today

Sad

She was such a lovely, sociable cat. I know we'll really miss her. The DC are devastated. Her grown up kitten is a bit confused.

Can't really believe it has happened tbh.

What a beautiful cat, I am so sorry Flowers

Her kitten is lying in my arms sleeping like a baby on her back. DC are distraught, DD keeps breaking down & howling. DS is more subdued and says he feels guilty that he didn't spend more time stroking her (dear knows why, she was a very petted cat).

I've just realised it is exactly a year and 2 weeks since she had a life saving operation where she had a foreign object removed from her intestines. I'm so grateful we had that extra time with her. Still Sad

So sorry for your loss Flowers

Was she a Burmese?

My special cat died about a week ago. I miss her and her presence in the house so much. I got a greyhound to foster on the weekend. He's very sweet but not the same as having a cat around.

Tartyflette · 27/06/2016 01:16

I'm so sorry too, beryl -- we lost both our cats on the road and it is truly devastating. I still miss Tartycat 2, she was the sweetest, gentlest little thing, we loved her and she loved us. I am in tears for her, and you and your DC, as I write this.
Flowers and hugs to you all.

So so sorry OP. This happened to us 4 years ago. I blamed myself for ages as we got back late and he crossed the road to greet us (something he never normally did). He was also the best cat I've had. It took a long time for me to come to terms with it. You and your children have my deepest sympathies.

RubbishMantra · 27/06/2016 10:52

Your description of DCat is lovely. A truly loved cat. And very beautiful with it. Burmese?

I dread anything happening to my 2.

Do you think planting a rose close to her burial spot may help? It helped me immensely when I had a loss, seeing it sprout shoots, then flowerbuds. You could have a search for a rose with a name or colour that reminds you of her in some way.

Threetoedsloth · 27/06/2016 14:49

So very sorry. What a lovely puss.

BerylStreep · 27/06/2016 16:41

Thanks everyone for your kind words.

Yes, she was Burmese, a lilac. We plan to plant something where she is buried, possibly a rhododendron.

Flowers to all who have been in the same situation.
