Can I have my perfect cat?

I lost my old boy in January this year. The cat shaped hole in my heart is unbearably painful so I need a cat in my life. The problem is I live on a very busy road.

I know that cats are not ideally indoor creatures so I've realised that my best bet would be a blind cat.

Could I? Should I? How often do rescue centres have blind cats? Would I be turned down anyway because I live on a busy road in a rented house?

Is there any alternative?

Help and advice would be very much appreciated, thank you.

Oops! I missed some pages (my settings normally have all on one page)

Good luck!

How about a Persian? They are indoor cats and are totally not bothered about the outside. Lovely natures, docile and stupid but loving and affectionate. The rescue I got mine from has some lovely cats in.

St Francis Persian cat rescue. They are based in Yorkshire though.

A chat is definitely the way to go. I really do think that as long as they're open minded and have time to listen to my begging case I'm in with a chance. If not Leroy, then top of the list for another cat in need of being treated like god/ess.

Toddler - breeds are out of my price range unfortunately, and knowing my luck I'd get the one unique member of that breed that did want to go outside!

Because they are rescued they are cheaper than buying from a breeder. My girls adoption fee was £200 each. But they'd had everything done and the only thing I had to to was microchip them.

YesItsMeIDontCare · 16/06/2016 12:50

Damn. If you'd said £50ish I could seriously add it to my list of possibles, but £200 is way too high.

And I love Persian fluffiness. Sad

Yes. I was shocked when I was told the adoption fee but I'd already fallen for the photo of my girl and her sister so I just sucked it up and took the plunge. Especially when I realised how much had been spent getting them sorted. But obviously not everyone can do that. Hope you get your perfect girl/boy. It's a very odd feeling when you've fallen for a photo but it felt like fate.

The shelter I rescued my two girls from didn't even ask if I was in rented property (I am) and didn't seem to mind that there's a main road quite nearby. They only go as far as the back garden though thankfully.

More rescues are open to cats being indoor only these days, that's one of the reasons I went to one an hours drive from home rather than one more local to me. My precious ones had been living at the recue for a whole year, so the owner there said a decent sized home would be a blessing compared to their pen.

Just try calling all the local rescues to find out which ones are open to indoor cats. If they start to wibble about the road "just in case the cat gets out" tell them all the safety measures you are putting in place e.g. screens on windows.

I have two long term foster cats that have to be indoor only because of heart conditions..the rescue pays for all their medical expenses...I'm in rental...so it can be done..infact the first one I asked to take on,the second one they phoned me and asked to take on..
Plus I have just had a run made coming off my kitchen window so they can get outside for some sun and fresh air but they can still be kept safe..I managed to design it in such a way that it isn't attached to house but to fence so I can take it with me if needed if I move.
Your perfect cat is out there just waiting to be found

Op, my cousin is looking for a home for a beautiful white cat with one blue and one green eye and no tail. He Was found abandoned and injured on the streets of Dubai. They are looking at flying him to the Uk. He is very friendly but has become a recluse and lost his confidence be used if what he's been through. I would upload a picture but I can't seem to do it. PM me if you want more informations (I have no idea how to PM anyone)
