Cat food in summer

Just wondering how everyone manages the warmer months without the issue of flies being attracted, the meat going off etc.

The cat's appetite seems to have diminished somewhat. She is fairly active but does like to sunbathe quite a bit.

I am giving her a small portion but as she needs it at the moment. Don't want her to think I'm starving her but she isn't actively asking for food.

She still wants her Dreamies though!

Is there variation in hunger according to season or is just my cat? She is not yet a year old.

They will settle I reckon, our little girl was a feral and yes she was very hungry at first, and fierce (she used to hiss and spit and hide from us) but she is now much more relaxed. We have been having some very odd eating patterns now varying from starving eating a pouch in one go to leaving loads. I think little and often seems to do it. Not sure has managed to hunt anything - yet!

Thanks. No, I hadn't heard of food toys. I will have a look at them. They are nice little cats.

I look forward to the first gift of a live mouse etc, from experience those are fun to catch!

Hah! Wait until you're trying to catch a small wriggly thing, that can jump like a small kangaroo, or find one in your shoe/coat pocket.

Fun for the cat though. Grin

Trying to catch a live sparrow that's flying about the house is a delight too.
