Our gorgeous ball of fluff thinks she's a dog. Will fetch a ball, follow us around and lick any bit of skin she can find on her favourite people.

Anyone else have a licky cat? Do you recognise the gorgeous silly affection and mercilessly painful sandpaper of a tongue on your face?!

Not that I'd change it for anything though...

But interested to learn if anybody know why cats lick like this?

Can you cat proof your garden?

Goingthedistance · 16/05/2016 16:29

Not really. It's a shared one so neighbours would probably object.

The Burmese over the road are very clear that the entire street and all the gardens, belong to them.

Going, The licky stuff stopped mostly after his investigation into epilation. (not him, me!) Then again, today he gave me a few cursory licks on the arm. Presumably the bits I'd not cleaned thoroughly enough in the shower.

I think it was you who enquired about harness training? Little Monsieur is a free- range cat, but elects not to leave my tiny courtyard, which makes me sad, because he's such a sociable little being. But as well as his desire to meet and greet, I'd like him to be a therapy cat, so have been getting him used to a Mynwood Walking Jacket and extendable lead. The jacket doesn't phase him at all. We had our first meander into the green opposite our house the other night. Nothing like walking a dog though, cats like to stop and investigate interesting smells for half an hour. Then have a bit of a sit-down. Grin

He's a very bold/chilled out liitle soul though, (Devon Rex)...A curly fool little angel, unlike my other beautiful cat, who would not stand for any such nonsense.

Mine grooms my hair O_o

YoureAllABunchOfBastards · 16/05/2016 19:35

My first cat used to groom me. She did it when I was feeling very low - she knew.

Thanks for the link mantra! I'm going to order one and see how little foof-ball responds.

Interested to know what a therapy cat is...Smile

Going - therapy cat - he sits there smoking a pipe/cigar. whilst you lie on a couch. Then he invites you to tell him about your child-hood. Grin

No, really it's a cat that you can take to places where people can't have pets of their own, such as homes for the elderly. They get to spend time with an animal, which is therapeutic, he gets lots of attention. Win win!

Here's my curly fool wearing his. I thought court jester colours most appropriate. He's a born entertainer/comedian.

He appears to have matching blue eyes and ears. He is very handsome.
