I've decided to get a kitten for my daughter ,we pick her up on Friday. We are going to continue using the food the current owner uses to that's that sorted and we are going to arrange to have the first set of vaccines done.

  1. How old does a cat have to be to get chipped?(though she won't be out until she has the right vacations)
  2. Is sainsburys basic cat litter any good? (The owner is using wood pellet litter atm)

Thanks in advance x

Although my cats go out they come in to use the toilet. I've tried basic litter / clay litter / clumping litter / wood pellet litter and corn litter, yet each time I come back to the crystal litter.

It dries out poo so that it doesn't get mashed up when they dig in their litter tray which mine seemed to do more of when they had wood pellets and corn litter.

I stopped using clay and clumping litter altogether when they kept walking clay foot prints through the house and I realised it was because their feet were getting wet in the litter tray.

The silica gel absorbs all the liquid so my house never smells.

I was having to change the litter every two days before but now I just scoop solids once a day and change it all once a week.
